In 2018 I set out a number of goals for myself. One of which was keeping this blog, and I admit that I failed in that regard. For 2019, I have set myself the task of writing, studying, and sea-gazing. I have a slew of books I’ve been meaning to read. Many of these are written by Edna O’Brien. Other texts are largely folklore and language learning materials. I would like to include those in this blog. I plan to keep this as both a repository for the information I collect and the experiences I have while I read and learn in Irish and English. I’ll also include books unrelated to my studies like Shameless by Nadia Bolz-Weber. In this space, I’ll reflect on last year and my journey to Ireland where I began to learn Modern Irish as well as my time at the National Folklore Collection in August. This year is fraught with challenges and I believe myself to be ready.
